Prusa Slicer is the free slicer software tool you need to convert a digital 3D model into printing instructions for your LUTUM 3D Clay printer. It cuts the model into horizontal slices (layers), generates toolpaths to fill them and calculates the amount of material to be extruded. Prusa Slicer is a free software, originally developed byAlessandro Ranellucci with the help of contributors and community as Slic3r, Prusa slicer a further development of this package and is licensed under the GNU Afferdo General Public License, version 3. The Slic3r icon was designed by Corey Daniels.
Our printers read files in gcode format. We expect you to understand the basics of this format and be able to operate 3D CAD software and have basic knowledge about slicing 3D files in STL format to gcode format for 3D printing.
For the LUTUM 4.x We provide basic settings in an .ini file for Slicer. This file can be found on the SD card and is called: LUTUM-3mm-4.1-2018.ini (or something similar).
This .ini file needs to be imported into your copy of Slic3r to set all of the printer’s specific settings.
For the LUTUM 5.x the ini can be found on the internal storage of the printer and can be downloaded as soon as you made wireless contact with your machine.
