BOOSTER KIT for LUTUM® 2.x and 3.x
Are you working with a 2015 to 2017, LUTUM 3.x (red and black) or LUTUM 2.x ?
We did not forget you, and have good news! You can now upgrade the brain and control box of your printer.
We developed a KIT everybody can install into their ‘vintage’ LUTUM printer. Just open the electronics compartment in the front. Label your existing wires before removing the old ‘brain’, screw in the new board and re-attach the wires. After the upgrade your LUTUM will have wifi, run faster with more power and is controlled with a 5″, or optional, 7″ touch screen. You can also control the printer through the browser interface from a wifi enabled device like a phone, tablet or laptop.
In the early days we had quite a few itterations in printer development and while most of the wiring is identical from system to system, we still customize every kit to reflect your specific configuration.
What is in the kit:
- fully assembled and flashed 32bit Duet based board with wifi and 3A external pre-installed driver for Y-axis movement
- 16GB internal storage,
- 5″ touchscreen in new aluminium housing
What do you need to install:
- camera to document wire placing between old and new board
- Torx screw driver, TTX15 (but you can use your own screws if you want)
- small slotted screw driver (flat head)
- large slotted or philips screw driver
- small wire cutter
- permanent marker to mark one of the wires
The kit uses all old internal wiring and the original wire between the printer and your current control box.

Procedure for the older wood type controlbox is slightly different as you would discard all but the main connection wire. There is also an assembly manual and video about fitting the new items inside the LUTUM. You will receive the link for that video after purchase
